International Association of Film and Television Schools published a report about the activity on its website, and invited its member institutions to support and join in the activity.

The activity gained the attention of young filmmakers around the world. Young filmmakers from countries like Britain, the United States and Spain submitted excellent entries for application. Among them are students who have joined the official film crew of Sochi 2014, students from the Lausanne campus of HEAD Genève where the International Olympic Committee is located, and Chinese students studying in University of the Arts London, California College of the Arts, RMIT University and other universities around the world. The languages of the entries include English, Greek, Japanese, Mongolian, Kazak and some Chinese dialects, such as Hokkien and Cantonese, with a great diversity in style.

The young filmmakers presented vigorous and creative ideas in their works, and their unique perspectives showed their distinct personal styles and specialties. Among them, some are documentary style and express a social concern. Some works adopt avant-garde expression, a good blend of the cultural collision between the East and the West, the old and the new concepts. Some works make great efforts in narrative and camera use, cleverly using height and angle to convey information with special meaning. Some young filmmakers created sports-themed entries from the perspective of athletes, showing the extraordinary effort and sweat athletes endure. Some works are focused on visually impaired athletes, telling their stories of overcoming physical impairments and fulfilling their sport dreams – much in line with Beijing 2022’s equal emphasis on the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

After three months of recruitment, the organising committee has received hundreds of excellent entries which tell the great stories around Olympic dreams. The committee are looking forward to inviting these young filmmakers, who stand out from so many outstanding talents, to join the official film crew and contribute their creativity and energy, integrate the Olympic spirit with cultures of the world and present a successful Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
