The Arawana brand of the Yihai Kerry Group became the Official Cooking Oil and Grains Products Sponsor of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 on 20 December 2018.

A famous brand of a leading agribusiness group in China, Arawana (known as Jinlongyu in Chinese) is the third Official Sponsor signed by Beijing 2022, which began looking for these tier-two sponsors in August 2018.

Zhang Jiandong, Vice Mayor of Beijing and Executive Vice President of Beijing 2022, and Mu Yankui, Deputy Board Chairman and Chief Operation Officer of Yihai Kerry, jointly unveiled a composite logo that combines the Arawana trademark with Beijing 2022 emblems.

The event took place in the “Bird’s Nest” National Stadium, the iconic Beijing 2008 venue that will host Beijing 2022’s opening and closing ceremonies.

Arawana was the Cooking Oil Exclusive Supplier of Beijing 2008. It has also sponsored the Shenzhen 2010 Universiade and China’s 13th National Games.

Han Zirong, Secretary General of Beijing 2022, congratulated Arawana for partnering with the Olympics once again and vowed to help the brand fully benefit from its market rights.

“We hope Arawana would deliver high-quality products and services for Beijing 2022 the way it did for Beijing 2008,” Han said. “We also look forward to the brand joining our efforts to promote winter sports and healthy lifestyles.”

Mu Yankui, Deputy Board Chairman and Chief Operation Officer of Yihai Kerry, said that Arawana would work hard to support Beijing 2022.

“We will help carry forward the Olympic Spirit and never stop in our efforts to contribute to Beijing 2022 and Healthy China,” Mu said.

Beijing 2022 launched its Marketing Programme in February 2017. It has seen great success so far. Eight tier-one Official Partners have been signed: Bank of China (banking services), Air China (passenger air transportation services), Yili Group (dairy products), ANTA (sports apparel), China Unicom (telecommunication services), Shougang Group (urban regeneration services), CNPC (oil & gas), and Sinopec Group (oil & gas).

The search for tier-two Official Sponsors has also been going on smoothly. Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd. and Beijing Yanjing Brewery Co., Ltd. were announced as Beijing 2022’s Official Beer Sponsors on 17 December 2018. More Official Sponsors are expected to be signed in 2019.
