China to test preparation for Beijing 2022 in PyeongChang

BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) – Wednesday marks the 100-day countdown to the opening of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. Chinese athletes will compete in the world’s top winter sports arena for the 11th time since China rejoined the Olympic Family in 1979.

Competitive sport is at the core of all sports. Olympic gold medals are all Olympian’s aspiration, and stand for immortal glory of their sports career.

PyeongChang 2018 will be the ground to examine the Chinese sports legion’s sharpness. It is a prime objective that every Chinese athlete can make the best of themselves.

“In PyeongChang, we shall try our best to encourage our athletes to achieve good results, to display our nation’s spirit, and to compete in high morale,” said Gao Zhidan, vice minister of the General Administration of Sport.

PyeongChang 2018 will be a fresh start for Chinese sportsmen and sportswomen to test their preparation for Beijing 2022.

“We shall never be afraid of failures. We shall have full confidence. While we prepare for Beijing 2022, we must target PyeongChang 2018 first,” Gao added.

PyeongChang 2018 will also be a good opportunity for Beijing 2022 organizers.

From now on, dozens of Beijing 2022 organizers will be dispatched to PyeongChang to observe the operations of an Olympic Winter Games. The operational knowledge they learn in PyeongChang will surely help Beijing organize a “fantastic, extraordinary and excellent” 2022 Games.
