BEIJING, June 11, 2017 (China Sports Daily) – Gou Zhongwen, Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), met heads of the International Federations (IFs) on winter sports on Sunday.
The IFs heads included Rene Fasel (President of the International Ice Hockey Federation), Gian-Franco Kasper (President of the International Ski Federation), Ivo Ferriani (President of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation), Kate Caithness (President of the World Curling Federation), Jae Youk Kim (council member of the International Skating Union), Nicole Resch (Secretary-General of the International Biathlon Union), and Sarah Lewis (Secretary-General of the International Ski Federation).
All the foreign guests were here to attend the second meeting of the IOC Coordination Commission on the Beijing 2022 winter Olympics, scheduled from Monday to Tuesday.
Gou expressed gratitude for the IFs’ long-lasting support to China’s winter sports development.
The GASC and the Chinese Olympic Committee (COC) will make their best to do a good preparatory job for the 2022 winter Olympics, said Gou, also Chairman of the COC.
The COC hopes to strengthen cooperation with the IFs to further promote the development and competitiveness of China’s winter sports, he added.
