Beijing 2022 president meets IOC CoCom chairman

BEIJING, June 12, 2017 (Beijing Daily) – President of Beijing 2022 Cai Qi on Monday met Alexander Zhukov, Chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission.

Since its inauguration in December 2015, Beijing 2022 has worked closely with the Coordination Commission. Both sides have carried out a series of fruitful cooperation, giving the preparations for the 2022 winter Olympics a good start, said Cai, also Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

“We’ll cooperate more closely with Chairman Zhukov and the Coordination Commission, and spare no effort to make the preparations progress according to the Master Plan,” he said.

“Beijing 2022 is confident in doing a good preparatory job under the leadership of the Chinese government and the help of the Coordination Commission,” he added.

Zhukov said he was impressed with Beijing 2022’s ongoing preparations, especially the efforts to turn into reality the promise of facilitating 300 million Chinese people practice winter sports.

He added the road to the 2022 winter Olympics would be smooth. He believed the 2022 winter Olympics would be successful.

Executive presidents of Beijing 2022 -- Gou Zhongwen (Minister of the General Administration of Sport), Chen Jining (Acting Mayor of Beijing), Xu Qin (Governor of Hebei Province), and Zhang Haidi (Chairwoman of China Disabled Persons’ Federation) – were also present at the meeting.
