Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, February 20 (Chinanews) – Man Dandan, China’s first gold winner at the Sapporo Asian Winter Games, on Monday said she looked forward to the opening of the Beijing 2022 winter Olympics.
She told reporters during a phone interview after winning the title in women’s cross-country Individual Sprint Classical in the first day of competition.
“I’ve already taken part in three Olympic Winter Games. They were Turin 2006, Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014. I’ll prepare for PeyongChang 2018 after Sapporo,” Man said.
“To compete at Beijing 2022 is my biggest dream. I wish to fight for our motherland on our own soil. It’ll be a great honour,” she added.
Man, born in 1989 in China’s far northeast province of Heilongjiang, was a leading skier in the national cross-country team. Her personal best before Sapporo was the 8th at the 2007 World Cup.
