BEIJING, August 27, 2016 (Beijing 2022) – The Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games said Saturday that it will work with the international sports federations (IFs) more closely to push forward all-round preparations.
All the IFs concerned attach great importance to the preparations led by Beijing 2022. “We need to actively work with them to enhance the efficiency and level of our preparatory work,” the Organising Committee said after a meeting chaired by Guo Jinlong, president of Beijing 2022 and also member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
The meeting agreed to speed up fundamental planning, Games delivery timetable, venue and infrastructure construction, marketing, media communications, and staffing and training.
The meeting vowed to push forward the preparations in line with the instructions from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“The 2022 Games is a critical opportunity for our country’s overall sports development. We must adhere to the principle of hosting a green, sharing, open and clean winter Olympics… We should try our best to deliver a fantastic, extraordinary and excellent winter Olympics, and accelerate the development of winter sports in China,” the meeting added.
